Frequently Asked Questions

Q:
Anesthesia - Claims with minutes are denied - How should we bill our services?
A:

In Loop 2400, use of the MJ Minutes Qualifier in SV103 with the minutes of anesthesia in SV104 will result in the claim being denied.

At the present time, the New York State Medicaid program can only adjudicate claims using units. Loop 2400, SV103 must contain the value of UN and SV104 must contain the Units of Service only.
