Each physician NPI should be registered with their individual MMIS Provider ID.  Please be sure not to register individual physician NPIs with the group’s MMIS Provider ID.  Only the group’s NPI should be registered with the group’s MMIS Provider ID.  Mixing individual and group NPIs will cause problems after implementation and may cause claims to be denied.
