A.	Utilizing the Provider Enrollment Maintenance Portal will allow users to perform maintenance functions more easily online than sending in paper forms. It will also allow for quicker turnaround times. However, paper forms will still be accepted.

Q.	Is the Provider Enrollment Maintenance Portal the same as the Provisional Temporary Provider Enrollment Maintenance Portal that became available during the COVID-19 pandemic?

A.	No, they were two separate portals with different functions. The Provisional Temporary Provider Enrollment (PTPE) portal was used for rapid and abbreviated enrollment during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. The PTPE portal used during the COVID-19 pandemic is no longer available and providers provisionally enrolled this way are required to complete a full paper enrollment to remain enrolled. The Provider Enrollment Maintenance Portal, on the other hand, is a permanent method for practitioners to perform certain maintenance functions online, with additional functionality still under development. A new eMedNY ID is required to use the Provider Enrollment Maintenance Portal.

Q.	If I have an ePACES account, can I use that login for the Provider Enrollment Maintenance Portal?

A.	No. The Provider Enrollment Maintenance Portal uses separate credentials, and users must create a new account to use the Provider Enrollment Maintenance Portal. To sign up, go here.

Q.	What is MFA and how do I set it up?

MFA means Multi-Factor Authentication. It is an additional layer of security when logging into the Provider Enrollment Maintenance Portal. There are several MFA options that can be set up. You are required to set up ONE option, but it is recommended that you set up at least TWO of the below options.

OKTA Verify - use a push notification sent to mobile app
Security Key or Biometric Authenticator
YubiKey - Insert yubikey and tap it to get verification code
Google Authenticator
SMS Authentication - Enter a single-use code sent to your mobile phone
Voice Call Authentication

Q.	Who is the Provider Enrollment Maintenance Portal for and what can be done there?

A.	At this time the Provider Enrollment Maintenance Portal is only available for PRACTITIONERS for MAINTENANCE transactions. Additional provider groups and functions will be added at a later date. For a listing of available transactions, please use the FORM LOOKUP TOOL located on the Provider Portal Main Page.

Q.	Will paper forms still be available?

A.	Yes. Currently, paper practitioner maintenance forms are still available to submit. However, benefits of submitting maintenance requests through the Provider Enrollment Maintenance Portal include real time status updates, tracked history and communications related to the submission.

Q.	Will Maintenance transactions be processed faster through the Provider Enrollment Maintenance Portal?

A.	Yes, transactions processed on the Provider Enrollment Maintenance Portal will take less time, since US Postal Service mailing time, scanning and data entry of paper forms will be eliminated.

Q.	Can I enroll a new provider using the Provider Enrollment Maintenance Portal?

A.	At this time, the Provider Enrollment Maintenance Portal is only available for maintenance transactions of actively enrolled providers. The ability to submit applications for new enrollment, revalidation, and reinstatement for practitioners and other provider types will be added at a later date.

Q.	Am I able to submit maintenance transactions for my Practitioner Group through the Provider Enrollment Maintenance Portal?

A.	At this time, the Provider Enrollment Maintenance Portal is only available for maintenance transactions of actively enrolled practitioners. Maintenance transactions for other provider types will be added at a later date.

A.	While we don’t have an exact date yet, we will be announcing dates via LISTSERV and Medicaid Updates when they become available. Please be sure to check our website as well for updates.

Q.	I am trying to link my provider to my account in the Provider Enrollment Maintenance Portal. The provider hasn't received the PIN email. How do I update the correspondence email, so we can receive a PIN?

A.	Providers will be able to update/ change their email address using the submission form found here.

Q.	Do I have to use Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) every time I log into the Provider Enrollment Maintenance Portal?

A.	Yes. Users are required to authenticate every time they access the Provider Enrollment Maintenance Portal.

Q.	Can I create accounts for other users?

A.	No. Each individual must create their own account and then link to the provider who they are performing transactions for.

Q.	Will I be able to update my Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) information through the portal?

A.	Yes. Providers will have the ability to make changes to their EFT information and upload a canceled check or bank letter.

Q.	Can I renew or add Electronic Transmitter Identification Numbers (ETIN) through the Provider Enrollment Maintenance Portal?

A.	No. At this time providers must send in an original ETIN Certification Statement. However, the Provider Enrollment Maintenance Portal allows providers to view all submitted ETINs and ETIN decertification dates and allows providers to disaffiliate from an ETIN or set default ETINs.

Q.	Will I be able to track the progress of the transactions I perform in the Provider Enrollment Maintenance Portal?

A.	Providers can track their transactions and will be notified of any issues directly through the Inbox function of the Provider Enrollment Maintenance Portal.
